The Next Gundam series?
Posted at Useless Plamoya-san's Diary, the next Gundam series following DESTINY is planned for Oct 2006. However, the next series will not be SEED series. The blog states the staff will be made up so it will completely go away from SEED. The same post mentions Zeta and SEED will be the bulk of future model kit releases until this new series airs.
While information posted at Useless Plamoya-san's Diary have been reliable in the past, take this news with some grain of salt.

Ep 42 - "Freedom and Justice" - Orb is being pushed back by ZAFT's attack. Cagalli barely manages to hold against Destiny. Right when she was about to be shot down, Strike Freedom drops from the heaven with Infinite Justice...
Ep 43 - "Voice of Counter" - Athrun, piloting the Infinite Justice, comes to aid Kira. Athrun asks Shinn, "What do you really desire?" In the middle of the battle, Djibril plots an escape with group of traitors.
Ep 44 - "Two Lacus" - In response to Cagalli's speech, PLANT counters with Meer's speech. However, Lacus finally appears saying she is the real one. While the world is in chaos, both Dullindal and Djibril make their next move.

Gundam art exhibit opens
ITmedia Games has a nice write-up with photos covering the opening ceremonies of Suntory Museum's Gundam exhibit in Osaka. Yoshiyuki Tomino, new Bandai president Kazunori Ueno (once known as the Chief Gundam Officer), and Sunrise president Takayuki Yoshii were on hand for the ribbon cutting.
On display were various works on three themes expounded on in Gundam: war, evolution, and life. Featured works, in the order shown in the article: "Breathe Upon The Universe" (the hyped work featuring a 1/1 scale Core Fighter as its centerpiece), Yasuyuki Nishio's "crash Sayla Mass" (a 10-meter tall display based on the Gundam character with a cockpit in its torso), Makoto Aida's "Zaku (War Picture RETURNS Extra Edition)" (a painting of a battle scene with many Zaku II's), Motohiko Odani's "A Heart Full Of Love" (a photo of a female Federal Forces officer as the image of Miroku Bosatsu sitting inbetween two piles of corpses), and Horan Yokohama's "Final Defense Line 'A Baoa Qu'" (a work of calligraphy in the form of the A Baoa Qu fortress).
In the "evolution" corner, you can find the Newtype Technology Lab. Inside is the "Psyco Communicator System" exhibit, in which you can have your own personal Newtype experience, though not before undergoing ESP testing. Electrodes are attached to the back of two participants' heads, with one trying to send thoughts and the other receiving them. The receiver is blindfolded and made to navigate through the hanging styrofoam. Presumably, a Newtype can make it through unscathed.
After that: Koki Tanaka's "Pikipikiin (Theatrical Edition)" (some kind of abstract art suspended from the ceiling), Hisashi Tenayoya's "RX-78-2 Kabukimono 2005 Version" (a rendition of the RX-78-2 with a dragon), Horan Yokoyama's "Cosmic Glow" (calligraphy of the conversation between Amuro & Lalah in the MS Gundam episode of the same name), Yokoyama's "Zeong Paint Brush" and "Gundam Paint Brush" (modelled on the Zeong's head and the RX-78's Hyper Bazooka, respectively), Taro Shinoda's "Space Camp Site" (fresh moss inside a pseudo-space colony environment lit with LED's to produce oxygen via photosynthesis), and "Breathe In The Universe" (basically a silhouette of Lalah Sune).
Following those is a set of displays with the theme "From Gundam": Naohiro Ukawa's "768936352dimensionalofTHEWAR" (a composition made of 50 layers of cell drawings to create a 3D effect) and Hideyasu Moto's "Love Warrior G With Friends" (a cutesy image of anthropomorphic RX-78 body parts standing around).
Limited edition items from the event (all sold only on the grounds, no phone or net orders):
