Gundam Ace info

The Origin : Char & Sayla Edition - Section 1
Attack on Jaburo ended with Zeon's defeat. Zeon lost all but 1 MS, which happened to be Char's Z'Gok. Sleggar, along with rest of his MS squad, is officially transferred to White Base. And the tale of Char and Sayla's past starts in UC 0068, the day Zeon Zum Deikun suddenly died when he was going to make his important speech. From here, Yasuhiko brings his interpretation of what the two sides (Zabi family and Ral family) were up to (at the start of Zeon's death to the car bomb that killed Saslo) with characters like Saslo Zabi, Jimba Ral, and Astriea Deikun (mother of Char and Sayla) coming to life. Note: EF maintains a garrison (including several Guntanks) in Side 3 Munzo and Side 3 is only granted a self-autonomy during UC 0068.

DESTINY Astray
The official DESTINY sidestory begins with this issue with the same cast in charge of the Astray manga returning. 5 months have passed since the Junius Seven Treaty. Matias hires Jess Rabble to take a scoop/pic of ZAFT's former secret weapon, Genesis Alpha (a smaller-sized Genesis). Once Jess reaches where the Genesis Alpha is located, he was captured by Gai and handed over to Lowe. Here, the Junkyard Guild was busy equipping Genesis Alpha onto ReHome as an engine. Meanwhile, ZAFT forces attacked Genesis Alpha in order to hide the evidence that it existed. The attacks were defended against by Gai and Canard's Dreadnaught Eta and ZAFT retreated after Jess took a pic of Genesis Alpha.

Characters
Jess Rabble - 20-year-old natural and photo journalist. He pilots Raysta, a civilian-use MS built by the Junkyard Guild. He uses the gun camera to take photos of the battlefield. Carries a goggle around all the time to protect his eyes.

Kaite Madigan - 22-year-old Coordinator and a professional MS pilot. He is not associated with any faction and is more of a mercenary. He's always wearing a suit even while piloting a MS.

Matias - Mysterious client. Natural. Age and real name are unknown. Owns a big mansion and hires Jess.

Mecha
ZGMF-1017AS GINN Assault - Equipped with Duel's Assault Shroud. Weapons, armor, and propulsion are all upgraded. However, not a lot were produced. Piloted by Madigan.

MWF-JG71 Raysta - Serial number is short for "Main Works Figure Junkyard Guild Type 71". Raysta is derived from the word Astray and means "Civilian-use Astray". Raysta was built using data gathered from Astrays in the previous war. The MS is built from various junk parts. The Junkyard Guild has Raysta for sale or rental. However, it cannot be used for war purposes.

Gundam Astray Out Frame - MS discovered by Lowe at ZAFT's Genesis Alpha. During its discovery, it was not equipped with armor. Therefore, Lowe named it Out Frame. No word on if this MS was built or stolen by ZAFT. Lowe modified Out Frame as a construction-use MS equipped with no weapons. Lowe then gave it to Jess.

Dreadnaught Eta - Modified X Astray (aka Dreadnaught Gundam) piloted by Canard. The Dragoon System was taken out. The MS was designed by Lowe.

Gundam Legacy - Midnight Fenrir/ Desert Rommel Edition
Continuation of the Midnight Fenrir/Desert Rommel story. Rommel decides to attack the EFF, who are demanding the Zeon forces to surrender as the cease fire treaty was already signed. After the first skirmish, Rommel decides to retreat to reorganize his troops while Garret realizes the EFF are telling the truth. Garret agrees to act as decoy for Rommel. Meanwhile Lt. Agar (of EFF) agrees to become a negotiator in hopes to end this stand off.

Gundam X - Under the Moonlight
Mentioned before here, it'll premiere in the next issue of Gundam Ace. It takes place in AW 0024, 9 years after the Gundam X TV series. While a peace treaty between Earth and the spacenoids was signed 9 years ago, history is about to repeat itself.
Rick - the main character of the manga. 15-year-old spacenoid boy who came to Earth. Crew member of Mirage, a Vulture ship (Vultures during this period have become a Jack-of-All-Trades organization). He meets Kai one day, which changes his life forever.
Kai - A young boy who was asleep like the Gundam X. Now that he is awake, will he reveal his true power?
Rosa II - 15-year-old girl and the captain of the Vulture ship Rosa Rosa. Business rival of Mirage.

Gundam Watch moves
Was a bit late to catch on when it was first announced but now that it's happened, I can finally mention that Gundam Watch has moved from Gundamwatch.com to Gundamwatch.net. With the change, Zeonic Marine takes over the webmaster duties from the previous site admin, GrayBear. Here's to hoping Gundam Watch continues to be a fine place for Gundamheads to gather.

More DESTINY stuff
Another report from 2ch lists the titles for the first four episodes:
Episode 1 - Okoreru Hitomi ("Angry Eyes")
Episode 2 - Tatakai O Yobu Mono ("The One Who Calls Battles")
Episode 3 - Yochou No Houka ("Gunfire Of Omens" or "Ominous Gunfire")
Episode 4 - Hoshikuzu No Senjou ("Battlefield Of Stardust")

Short summaries for each episode are also given but they honestly don't say much more about the plot than is already known (Orb and ZAFT representatives meet, Gundams are stolen, Shin and company go after them, mystery new mobile armor appears, etc.).

And popping up on various upload boards, character design sheets for the first ep:
Shin and Youlan
Stellar
Sting and Auel
Cagalli
Athrun

Not to mention DESTINY Astray mechs:
MWF-JG71 Raysta (aka the civilian Astray)
Dreadnaught Eta (Canard's new MS)

Info from this month's hobby mags
The Char Custom blog has a nice pic of the lead mech for DESTINY Astray, the Gundam Astray Out Frame.

A poster on 2ch's Mokei board says that the 3rd episode of MS IGLOO introduces the MS-10 Zuda, Zimmad's successor to the Zaku, designed by Yutaka Izubuchi. Pam's Homepage states it'll be shown at the Bandai Museum starting November 3rd.

Videogame newsarama UPDATED AGAIN
Some more stuff from Quiter and 2ch:

Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam Vs. Z Gundam will be AEUG Vs. Titans DX with the addition of a new "Universal Century mode".

The SEED DESTINY GBA title looks to simply be a Japanese port of the GBA Battle Assault game with DESTINY characters and MS slipped in. Over 20 MS from SEED and its sequel will be in this version.

Yet another scan of Owaranai Asu E from Famitsu.

Finally, the official sites for AEUG Vs. Titans DX and the PS2 SD Gundam Force are now both open. The SD Gundam Force site has new, game-specific Gundam upgrades revealed.

GC Gundam Vs. Z Gundam
A bit of info was going around a few days ago on Japanese sites about a game called "Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam" coming for the Gamecube on December 2nd. With this screencap from a Playstation business briefing, it'd seem that the game turns out to be just a renamed version of AEUG Vs. Titans DX. So it looks as though it's hitting the Gamecube as well as the PS2. Don't know why the name is being changed...

Gundam Ace DESTINY info
Some info from the latest issue of Gundam Ace is out there:

Mobile weapons
GAT-02L2 Dagger L - The Earth Alliance force's mass production MS. An improved version of the Dagger with an enhanced armament.

TFA-4DE GAZuOOT - ZAFT forces heavy MS, an improved ZuOOT. The firepower is strengthened with the beam cannons on both shoulders and the large missles, which replaced the 2-barrel auxiliary cannons.

Neo Roanoke's mobile armor - The romaji for this is "eguzasu". Come up with your own fun English spellings, kids! Equipped with 2 rail guns and 4 all-range attack weapons.

Characters
Cagalli Yula Athha - After the battle of Jachin Due, the Orb Union once again gains independence. The daughter of the Union's leader, Uzumi, becomes the new representative head. In order to prevent any outbreak of future wars, she works hard by meeting various groups. However, some say she became the leader by being used as a political puppet.

Arthur Trine - Commissioned officer of ZAFT. XO of Minerva and Shin's superior.

Lord Jibril - The new leader of Blue Cosmos, an organization with the intent of purging all coordinators. The organization gains new life under his leadership. His goals are to eliminate the coordinators and setup a new ideal world.

Bandai musical release dates re-revisited UPDATED
Anime News Network is now saying that Gundam F91 is delayed until November 23rd but that Zeta Gundam has been bumped up to November 14th. One wonders if that new Zeta date is a typo as releasing a DVD on a Sunday is a bit unusual...

Edit: ANN reports that a solicitation update was later sent from Bandai that indeed confirms that Zeta will be out on November 30th, as was stated last time, and not the 14th. Hopefully that's the last word on Zeta's release date.

Bandai at Tokyo Game Show 2004
On Quiter, they have a list of titles various companies will be showing off at Tokyo Game Show 2004 (September 24-26). The Gundam-relevant stuff for Bandai:

Gundam SEED: Owaranai Asu E
SD Gundam Force: Great Decisive Battle! The Dimensional Pirate De Scare!!
Keroro Gunsou Meromero Battle Royale

Additionally, Quiter also mentions that a new Keroro title, Keroro Gunsou: Showdown! Keroro Cart De Arimasu, for the GBA will be coming out December 9th.

PS2 SEED Briefing Guide
Someone posted scans from an Owaranai Asu E pamphlet on Ranobe (3.8 MB, .zip). Doesn't look like much in the way of new stuff but it puts much of what's been shown in one place.

DESTINY info UPDATED
Some early scans from this month's Comic Bon Bon and its "Prologue DESTINY" manga showed up on Ranobe. The most interesting thing is that we get a glimpse of Neo Roanoke's mobile armor. The last few pages are pretty much a preview of a serialized SEED DESTINY manga to be done by Mizuho Takayama (Blue Destiny).

Edit: Whoever posted them went ahead and deleted the pics so I upped the MA pic to our image host. If you didn't catch the others, sorry.

Gundam DVD news
As it says over on Animeondvd.com, the Zeta boxset will be delayed again just a tad: By one week (to November 30th). On the upside, it seems that Gundam F91 will definitely be getting the Special Edition treatment through the addition of a second disc of extras but for the same retail price overall that the normal version was to have ($29.98).

SEED DESTINY tidbits
On September 24th, the Gundam Ace November Special Edition Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY Official Fastest Guide will come out. It'll contain a guide to the 50 eps of SEED and the "new DVD's" (presumably the Special Editions). It also says it'll completely contain the latest SEED DESTINY information on the new characters and new Gundams. Price is 480 yen.

The official DESTINY site updated with character profiles that correspond with info that came out during the past week.

On MBS' site, you can now see a streaming version of First Attack in RealMedia and Windows Media formats if you haven't caught it yet.

Finally, forgot to mention that the release of TM Revolution's "ignited" was delayed a week (from October 27th to November 3rd).
